Oktsec selected as one of five startups for Ekoparty’s first Startup Zone.

Oktsec was selected on September 21, 2026 as one of five startups for Ekoparty’s first Startup Zone, a new space for Latin American cybersecurity projects.

On September 21, 2026, Oktsec was selected as one of five startups for the first Startup Zone at Ekoparty Security Conference in Buenos Aires.

For a company building security tools for AI agents from Latin America, the selection connects its work with a community that investigates vulnerabilities, builds defensive tools and tests how systems behave in practice.

What is Ekoparty?

Ekoparty Security Conference is one of Latin America’s major cybersecurity gatherings. Its roots go back to hacker meetups in 2001. It has grown into a meeting point for security researchers, practitioners, students and companies, with technical talks, hands-on workshops and community-led activities.

The 2026 Buenos Aires edition runs from October 7 to 9 at the Centro de Convenciones Buenos Aires. Its program includes security research, hacking competitions and specialist communities known as villages, covering areas such as hardware, social engineering and defensive security.

That technical focus makes the event relevant to a security startup: its audience includes people who can examine a proposed control, challenge its assumptions and assess whether it addresses a problem they encounter at work.

A new space for cybersecurity builders

Ekoparty introduced Startup Zone in 2026 to give emerging cybersecurity projects in Latin America a place to present their work. The initiative brings builders into contact with the hacker community, specialists, companies and chief information security officers.

Its focus is practical: show a project, receive feedback and develop connections with people who may use, challenge or help improve it.

Why the selection matters for Oktsec

Oktsec works on a specific security problem: AI agents can use tools and act across business systems with the credentials and permissions available to them. Organizations need to decide which actions are allowed, which require human approval and what evidence to retain when an action is attempted.

Oktsec’s runtime controls, security assessments and open-source research and tooling approach that problem from different angles. The work includes examining agent tools and skills, testing permission boundaries and producing records that engineering and security teams can review.

Selection for Startup Zone is a meaningful opportunity to bring that work to a regional audience with direct experience finding and fixing security weaknesses. We thank the Ekoparty team for choosing Oktsec and creating a space for new projects.

Selection and the regional agenda

Oktsec will not attend this edition of Startup Zone because of previously scheduled regional commitments. Founder Gustavo Aragón’s itinerary includes ACE Barranquilla followed by meetings with prospective customers in Panama. Those conversations cover cybersecurity, AI agent security and training.

We look forward to a future opportunity to share the work with the Ekoparty community. Teams interested in testing an AI workflow, discussing a pilot or organizing a practical training session can contact Oktsec directly.
